Requirements
- Have 7+ years of relevant DevOps experience in a SaaS environment.
- Bring expertise in distributed systems, including container orchestration, distributed messaging, and distributed databases, with emphasis on Kubernetes and Kafka.
- Have expertise with cloud platforms, primarily AWS.
- Have expertise with infrastructure-as-code languages, focusing on Terraform and Ansible.
- Have expertise in automated deployment methodologies, especially Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
- Have prior professional application development experience, particularly with SaaS applications and web development.
- Know software engineering and design principles, including design patterns, architectural patterns, the CAP Theorem, and event-driven architecture.
- Be security-minded at all levels.
- Experience with NGINX, networking, and security is nice to have.
- Experience with NoSQL or Big Data technologies is nice to have.
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL is nice to have.
- Experience with C# and .NET Core is nice to have.
Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a team of DevOps engineers; run standups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
- Provide technical thought leadership in collaboration with Architecture, SecOps, Data Engineering, and Development.
- Partner with developers and product teams to capture tooling, automation, and infrastructure requirements and translate them into actionable stories and designs.
- Design and maintain continuous delivery systems and advise development teams on code and implementation.
- Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure as code for development and production environments, focusing on Kubernetes and Kafka.
- Design, implement, and maintain observability and monitoring solutions.
- Monitor system health and take action to maintain uptime and performance SLAs.
