Requirements

  • Experience designing complex B2B software products alongside a PM and engineers, with shipped work to show.
  • Experience in startups or scale-ups, with comfort working in small teams, with few handoffs and changing product needs.
  • Hands-on experience designing around constraints set by regulators, compliance rules or third-party vendor APIs.
  • Portfolio experience with multi-state workflows such as orders, cases, applications or checks, including handling cases where the system cannot determine the next step.
  • Familiarity with enterprise-scale permissions, configuration, multiple personas and workflows used by organizations of different sizes.
  • Daily use of AI across research, testing, bug investigation, prototyping and documentation, with an appetite to learn to ship small PRs using Claude Code.
  • Production-ready UI craft demonstrated in a portfolio.
  • Ability to make and explain decisions when data is unavailable, own outcomes and help teams adopt research-backed judgment.
  • Fluency in commercial outcomes such as margin, adoption and conversion.
  • HR tech or ATS experience, and experience with credits, billing or usage-based pricing, are bonuses.

Responsibilities

  • Own design for every usage-based feature in Pinpoint, from initial vendor or customer conversations through specification, design, launch and measurement.
  • Design the next phase of Pinpoint Checks, including DBS update service routing, rechecks, downstream data sharing, decision and audit flows, and UK high-compliance checks.
  • Design credit visibility, self-serve costing and in-platform credit management.
  • Shape Marketplace product strategy with the PM and carry it through execution.
  • Document plans, decisions, edge cases and open questions in tickets before development begins.
  • Prototype in code when it is more effective than Figma, submit small front-end fixes and QA shipped work.
  • Support Support, Sales and Legal with questions about stuck checks and vendor data practices.
  • Present Marketplace work at weekly design crit and contribute patterns to the Thumbtack design system.
