Job Details

Experience: 7+ years; six or more years of professional backend engineering experience, with significant time on distributed systems.

Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
Have six or more years of professional backend engineering experience, with significant time on distributed systems.
Have strong programming skills in Java, Go, Scala, or a similar language.
Understand distributed systems concepts, including consensus, replication, and CAP trade-offs.
Have hands-on experience with high-throughput messaging systems such as Kafka.
Have experience operating systems at scale, including capacity planning and performance tuning.
Have strong SQL skills and experience with relational and NoSQL data stores.
Have hands-on experience with a major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Bring strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
Have communication, documentation, and mentorship skills.
Preferred: experience leading complex technical initiatives across multiple teams.
Preferred: production experience with Kubernetes-based platforms.
Preferred: exposure to service-mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd.
Preferred: familiarity with chaos engineering practices and tools.

Design large-scale, high-throughput backend services.
Build and operate services that power mission-critical workloads.
Architect core platforms used by other engineering teams.
Address scalability, reliability, and performance in backend systems.
Apply clean engineering practices while navigating consistency, availability, and latency trade-offs.
