Requirements
- Be a current Flatiron Health employee with at least 12 months of experience working as an abstractor.
- Have previously worked as an Oncology Abstractor for Flatiron.
- Demonstrate strong abstractor skills through consistent abstraction quality and efficiency.
- Have 5+ years of hands-on experience working in oncology as an oncology data specialist, registered nurse, physician assistant, or equivalent.
- Be familiar with cancer treatment from diagnosis to recovery and fluent in cancer terminology.
- Have a high comfort level with technology and familiarity with EMR systems.
- Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail.
- Work a 40-hour-per-week schedule within flexible work hours guidelines and submit timesheets regularly.
- Data-entry experience and strong typing skills are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Abstract complex clinical insights from electronic medical records using the proprietary software system.
- Respond to abstractor questions.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in abstraction and data curation processes.
- Provide feedback to abstractors about their performance on abstracted tasks across disease spaces and clinical concepts.
- Support feasibility and initial testing of novel data points or new abstraction approaches.
- Pilot new Patient Manager tools or features and provide feedback to the team.
- Obtain and maintain credentials for abstraction and quality assurance activities.
- Contribute to the evolution of team processes.
- Participate in team teleconferences and other required meetings.
