Requirements
- Have experience building, shipping, and evolving production software.
- Bring deep expertise in at least one part of the stack and work confidently across frontend and backend systems.
- Apply product judgement and design sensibility to developer experiences, interfaces, and APIs.
- Take problems end-to-end with ownership and autonomy, including navigating ambiguity and making decisions with incomplete information.
- Balance quick iteration with investment in strong technical foundations.
- Maintain high standards for clean APIs, robust backend logic, thoughtful interactions, edge-case handling, and performance.
- Collaborate openly and contribute across a small team.
- Use new technologies and tools, including AI-assisted development, while maintaining ownership and sound engineering judgement.
- Experience with payments, billing, or developer tools is a plus.
- Open-source contributions and side projects are welcomed.
Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities and develop, ship, and iterate on features across the stack.
- Take responsibility for technical implementation and product outcomes.
- Build intuitive interfaces, powerful APIs, and abstractions for billing and monetization workflows.
- Deliver improvements continuously while balancing iteration speed, robustness, performance, and attention to detail.
- Engage with merchants to understand their use of Polar and uncover pain points.
- Translate user feedback into meaningful product improvements.
