Requirements
- Have 5+ years of backend or full-stack software engineering experience.
- Be skilled at building systems with high levels of complexity and intricate business logic.
- Have a deep interest in or experience developing agentic workflows involving disparate systems and tools.
- Have experience working in a remote-first team.
- Be familiar with enterprise integrations, including SSO, SCIM-based provisioning, audit logs, MFA, and delegated access.
- Balance business and product goals with engineering excellence and make pragmatic tradeoffs between user value and technical complexity.
- Be willing to make changes anywhere in the stack.
- The stack includes TypeScript, React, Apollo GraphQL, Redux, Express, Postgres, Redis, Kubernetes, Python kernels, Terraform, Helm, and AWS.
Responsibilities
- Build and extend Hex’s API and CLI to support workflows for technical users.
- Design MCP server and client implementations.
- Design and implement an access-control system with RBAC, admin request and approval flows, and tiered admin roles.
- Own full-stack product changes from backend policy enforcement through admin-facing workflows.
- Propose and implement well-architected, scalable systems in collaboration with the broader Hex team.
