Requirements
- Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities field from a US school; a master’s degree or higher is preferred.
- Have at least 1 year of English teaching experience and/or experience working in a college-level Writing Center.
- Demonstrate academic excellence, such as a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- Have strong verbal skills and mastery of the English language.
- Be proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G Suites.
- Have access to a reliable internet connection and a workspace with minimal noise or distraction.
- Be available during the stated operating hours: Tuesday–Thursday, 1:30 pm–9:30 pm CST, and Saturday–Sunday, 9:30 am–5:30 pm CST.
Responsibilities
- Teach small groups of students English core skills to support long-term understanding and preparation for ACT and SAT exams.
- Track student progress through the multi-phase curriculum and provide individualized growth opportunities.
- Maintain and update student lesson schedules.
- Hold students accountable for assignments and communicate with them in a timely manner.
- Develop and creatively execute evolving lesson plans and curriculum.
- Mentor middle and high school students through the college application process.
