- 7+ years of overall experience in a Database Reliability Engineer (DBRE), Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), or production Database Administrator (DBA) role.

Requirements
- Have 7+ years of experience in a DBRE, SRE, or production DBA role.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in object-oriented programming with Python or Go.
- Have practical knowledge of the Django framework for tooling or application development.
- Have hands-on experience designing, deploying, and managing scalable AWS infrastructure.
- Bring a deep understanding of automation principles using Terraform and Bash scripting.
- Have robust Unix/Linux system administration experience.
- Have practical experience with Docker and GKE.
- Have experience with Vault and database proxy or load-balancing tools such as ProxySQL.
- Have experience using GitLab for CI/CD.
- Be able to troubleshoot complex distributed environments and identify root causes.
- Have client-facing consulting skills, including managing customer expectations and advising as a trusted technical advisor.
- Be able to explain technical concepts to engineering teams and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate, analyze, design, implement, and administer database solutions, including server configuration and maintenance.
- Assess customer infrastructure and processes, and recommend operational improvements to support database uptime and recoverability.
- Administer backups and disaster recovery plans, monitor systems, respond to alerts, and troubleshoot operational problems.
- Oversee backup, clustering, mirroring, replication, failover, and database restoration and recovery.
- Develop and review maintenance, deployment, upgrade, and other action plans, and complete client documentation.
- Support incident and problem management, implement changes and service requests, and design procedures for complex changes.
- Prepare customer status and incident reports, respond to customer requests, and follow customer operating procedures.
- Improve monitoring, DBA toolkits, and internal processes; participate in presales and proposal activities.
- Mentor and train database consultants and contribute to employee training.
