Requirements
- Have 5–7+ years in a customer-facing Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, or Solutions Architect role within networking, security, infrastructure, or related enterprise software.
- Have experience co-owning pipeline and influencing quota outcomes with Sales for new business and expansion.
- Demonstrate understanding of zero-trust networking, secure connectivity, and IAM integrations, including SSO, SAML, OIDC, and SCIM.
- Bring strong networking fundamentals and troubleshooting skills, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, NAT traversal, and TLS/HTTPS.
- Have hands-on systems administration and troubleshooting experience across Linux and at least one of macOS or Windows.
- Have hands-on architecture experience with AWS, GCP, and/or Azure, including hybrid environments.
- Have experience managing cloud and network infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code; Terraform is preferred, with Pulumi, Ansible, or CloudFormation also relevant.
- Have experience running technical evaluations, customized demos, and proofs-of-concept in enterprise or upper mid-market environments.
- Be willing to travel occasionally, approximately 10–20%, for customer meetings, workshops, and internal collaboration.
- Nice to have: experience with zero-trust, SASE, ZTNA, VPN, PAM, or secure networking solutions.
- Nice to have: familiarity with privileged access patterns, AI gateways, LLM access governance, MCP/API proxying, or centralized model/provider key management.
- Nice to have: scripting or automation experience with Python, Bash, Go, or similar.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Account Executives to qualify and close enterprise new-business and expansion opportunities.
- Lead technical discovery, solution architecture, demos, and proofs-of-concept.
- Design Tailscale architectures for hybrid, multi-cloud, and on-premises environments.
- Align Tailscale PAM for identity-aware access and session recording, and Aperture as an AI gateway for LLM/API access.
- Translate technical capabilities into business value for customer stakeholders.
- Guide implementation and collaborate with Customer Success on best-practice adoption.
- Support enterprise architecture reviews, questionnaires, and compliance discussions.
- Provide enterprise use-case, blocker, and competitive feedback to Product, Engineering, and GTM teams.
- Build reusable demo environments, solution blueprints, and enablement assets.
