Requirements
- Have 3+ years of experience managing one or more engineering teams.
- Have 4+ years of experience building highly scalable and fault-tolerant systems.
- Know a broad range of design approaches and be able to deconstruct architectures for development across teams.
- Be able to scope projects with targeted dates and negotiate feature priorities with Product Management.
- Communicate complex technical subjects effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Be familiar with Agile software product delivery and Scrum methodology.
- Bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Have experience working cross-functionally in an enterprise environment.
- Preferred: experience in a start-up environment and a strong mobile software engineering background.
- Preferred: experience with Kotlin Multiplatform and/or Compose Multiplatform.
- Be open to occasional travel to Fanatics offices and other locations for conferences, events, meetings, and team-building activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and technical expertise within the engineering vertical.
- Build and lead teams delivering software in line with engineering best practices.
- Manage, coach, and develop engineers across mobile and backend platforms.
- Clarify technical requirements, negotiate priorities, and lead daily Scrum activities to deliver projects on time.
- Partner with product and design to create roadmaps that can be communicated to executives and stakeholders.
- Set clear objectives, use data and KPIs to support transparency, and improve engineering practices and systems.
- Drive adoption of AI-assisted engineering workflows, including tooling, documentation, testing support, and code review augmentation.
- Provide status, KPI, and metrics updates to executives and stakeholders.
- Recruit, assess, and onboard engineers, and align stakeholders around actionable roadmaps.
- Participate in architecture discussions, operational reviews, development workflows, and engineering quality practices.
