Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; an advanced degree such as an MBA, MPH, MS, or related discipline is preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant pharmaceutical or biotech commercial analytics, data strategy, reporting, insights, or consulting experience.
  • Oncology experience strongly preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. pharmaceutical commercial data, including longitudinal patient claims.
  • Familiarity with specialty distribution or pharmacy, sales, CRM, HCP and account, payer and access, EMR and lab, and other relevant datasets.
  • Demonstrated experience using patient-level claims data to identify patient populations, new patient starts, treatment patterns, adoption, persistence, and patient journeys.
  • Strong analytical curiosity and critical thinking, including the ability to identify patterns and anomalies, develop hypotheses, and determine business implications.
  • Ability to translate analytical findings into insights and recommendations for commercial leadership.
  • Strong working knowledge of Tableau or similar BI platforms.
  • Working knowledge of analytical tools and data-query concepts; SQL, SAS, R, Python, or similar programming experience is a plus but not required.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to work consultatively across functions in a highly matrixed organization.

Responsibilities

  • Translate business questions from Commercial leadership into analytical approaches, insights, and actionable recommendations.
  • Analyze commercial data to identify performance trends, opportunities, risks, and business drivers.
  • Lead patient-level claims analyses of patient populations, new patient starts, treatment adoption, utilization, persistence, treatment patterns, and patient journeys.
  • Develop and validate approaches for patient identification and treatment initiation, accounting for claims coverage, lag, coding, and longitudinal tracking limitations.
  • Integrate claims with sales, specialty distribution and pharmacy, CRM, HCP and account, market access, and other relevant data.
  • Lead the development and evolution of launch KPIs, performance metrics, and diagnostic measures with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership for commercial data strategy, governance, stewardship, data definitions, and business rules.
  • Define reporting and visualization requirements and provide direction to dashboard and report development resources and partners.
  • Lead or direct advanced analytics, including segmentation, targeting, patient journey, adoption, persistence, promotional effectiveness, and ROI analyses.
  • Develop executive-level narratives and presentations that synthesize analyses into business implications and potential actions.
