Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
- Hold an active New Mexico state teaching license in Chemistry for grades 6–12.
- Have experience teaching in virtual and/or in-person settings.
- Be able to teach live on camera for five or more consecutive hours per day, every instructional day.
- Have hands-on experience with online learning platforms, virtual instruction tools, and standard productivity software.
- Use student performance data to adjust instruction.
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills for working with students, families, and colleagues.
- Be organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage a full student caseload in a remote environment.
- Maintain certification and stay current on K-12 curriculum, technology, and teaching practices.
- Be willing to take on evolving responsibilities based on business needs.
Responsibilities
- Deliver live, on-camera synchronous instruction for five or more hours per day on every scheduled instructional day.
- Create an engaging and structured virtual classroom experience that supports student participation and achievement.
- Use student performance data to identify learning gaps and adapt instruction to individual students.
- Provide timely feedback on student work and maintain accurate records for students and families.
- Communicate proactively with students and families to foster trust and shared accountability for learning.
- Collaborate with school partners and Edmentum colleagues to provide consistent student support.
