Requirements
- Bring 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally focused on backend or full-stack development.
- Have strong proficiency in Python and experience with a modern web framework such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
- Have experience designing, building, and maintaining production systems in cloud environments, preferably AWS.
- Be familiar with distributed systems, workflow orchestration, and event-driven architectures.
- Have experience with production-grade databases, APIs, cloud services, and reliable deployment processes.
- Be able to design secure, maintainable, scalable, and fault-tolerant systems.
- Have strong problem-solving skills and a preference for practical, simple technical solutions.
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to collaborate with product, business, engineering, and data science teams.
- Be comfortable owning complex technical problems from design through implementation and production.
- Experience with Temporal, AWS ECS, PostgreSQL, Redis, TypeScript, or Next.js is highly valuable.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend services, APIs, and orchestration workflows for claim identification, case routing, and operational processes.
- Build scalable systems integrating AI/ML models, legal datasets, and transactional and healthcare data.
- Develop durable, fault-tolerant workflows using Temporal and related orchestration technologies.
- Write code using Python, FastAPI, TypeScript, and Next.js.
- Maintain and optimize AWS infrastructure, including ECS, RDS/Postgres, Redis, and secure deployment pipelines.
- Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to translate operational needs into engineering solutions.
- Apply engineering practices across testing, documentation, version control, code review, and production maintenance.
- Evaluate technologies to improve reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency while maintaining a simple architecture.
