Requirements
- Bring 12+ years of progressively responsible experience in philanthropy, social impact, movement infrastructure, mission-driven intermediaries, or other complex and evolving environments.
- Have 8+ years of meaningful senior-level leadership experience.
- Demonstrate success managing and developing staff, building organizational capabilities, and leading complex initiatives or functions.
- Bring enterprise-level strategic thinking and the ability to frame complex challenges and advise senior leaders while working hands-on when needed.
- Have experience contributing to cross-functional strategic planning and translating ambiguity into clear choices and decision-ready recommendations.
- Have built or significantly shaped a team, function, initiative, or organizational capability from an early or evolving stage.
- Bring meaningful experience working within or alongside mission-driven intermediaries and fiscal sponsors.
- Have experience evaluating or developing complex partnerships, funds, programs, products, services, or new lines of work.
- Have a deep understanding of philanthropic and social impact ecosystems and established relationships with diverse stakeholders in those ecosystems.
- Demonstrate strategic communications and narrative-development capabilities, including written and verbal communication, facilitation, synthesis, and executive advisory.
- Use sound judgment and discretion with complex stakeholder relationships, sensitive issues, and reputational considerations.
- Lead through influence across functions and organizational levels, build trust, and make clear recommendations amid competing perspectives.
- Operate effectively in ambiguity and distinguish what needs an immediate decision from what can be tested and refined.
- Bring a deep commitment to racial, economic, environmental, and social justice, with meaningful understanding of organizing, advocacy, philanthropy, and power.
- Work effectively across multiple technology platforms and systems and learn new systems independently.
Responsibilities
- Advise executive leadership and translate enterprise vision into strategic choices, priorities, roadmaps, work plans, and measurable outcomes.
- Shape and sequence enterprise initiatives, accounting for capacity, financial sustainability, legal and compliance requirements, organizational readiness, and resources.
- Develop decision-ready recommendations, business cases, scenarios, and trade-off analyses for enterprise opportunities.
- Strengthen enterprise planning, research, sensing, and decision-making practices.
- Support strategic communications and public affairs, including narrative development, thought leadership, executive visibility, and selected communications.
- Steward complex relationships with funders, intermediaries, clients, partners, and ecosystem stakeholders.
- Evaluate funds, fiscal sponsorship opportunities, partnerships, products, services, and ventures against mission, financial, stakeholder, and operational considerations.
- Represent the organization in selected external settings and coordinate follow-up with senior leaders and relevant teams.
- Support strategic initiative incubation by establishing strategy, governance, partnerships, resources, and leadership capacity.
- Translate approved strategy into priorities, outcomes, guardrails, decision points, and execution handoffs across functions.
