Requirements

  • Have 6+ years of experience in Product Data Analyst, Analytics Engineering, or a similarly technical data role within a SaaS or high-growth technology company.
  • Have 6+ years of experience building, deploying, and maintaining dbt projects in production.
  • Bring expert-level SQL skills and experience designing scalable analytical data models.
  • Understand data architecture and query performance optimization.
  • Have experience modeling behavioral product data and building event-driven analytical datasets.
  • Have experience partnering with Engineering on product instrumentation requirements and product event data quality.
  • Have experience with Customer Data Platforms such as Segment or RudderStack.
  • Have experience designing semantic models, reusable business logic, governed datasets, and trusted metric definitions.
  • Have experience with data quality testing, documentation, observability, and governance best practices.
  • Have experience with analytics and visualization platforms such as Looker, Omni, Hex, or Sigma.
  • Have experience with modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
  • Have experience using AI tools such as Cursor or Claude Code to improve analytics engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain the product analytics data foundation for reporting, self-service, experimentation, and AI.
  • Partner with Engineering to define, implement, and validate product instrumentation before feature releases.
  • Design and maintain scalable dbt models that transform raw product events into trusted analytical datasets.
  • Build semantic models, standardized business logic, and governed metric definitions.
  • Develop certified datasets for analytics and visualization platforms such as Looker, Omni, and Hex.
  • Partner with Product Managers to translate business requirements into reusable analytical data models.
  • Monitor product data pipelines, identify instrumentation gaps and data quality issues, and implement improvements.
  • Improve how product data is modeled, governed, documented, and consumed.
  • Use AI to accelerate analytics engineering workflows, including modeling, testing, documentation, and code development.
