Requirements
- Contribute to designing and implementing enterprise or web-scale hosting platforms.
- Administer application servers, web servers, and databases.
- Understand cloud and virtualization platforms, infrastructure automation, and application hosting technologies.
- Have experience working with software delivery teams and understand DevOps philosophies, Agile methods, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Have experience with at least one IaaS cloud platform and two or more application runtime platforms, such as physical servers, virtual servers, container clusters, serverless, or databases.
- Write scripts using at least one scripting language and be comfortable building Linux servers, Windows servers, or container clusters.
- Have experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery tools across different technology stacks.
- Have experience with monitoring systems for availability, performance, or security.
- Understand infrastructure vulnerabilities, secrets management, network security, and software supply chain security.
- Communicate technical concepts to nontechnical audiences and collaborate with technical and senior IT stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Launch projects through hands-on implementation, evaluate existing infrastructure, and drive improvements.
- Explore client needs and collaborate on technical roadmaps and solutions.
- Build Thoughtworks’ cloud and infrastructure practice with practitioners and business development, marketing, and capabilities development teams.
- Establish controls and processes for continuous delivery and infrastructure and application evolution.
- Drive automation across all stages of the process.
- Monitor projects to ensure technical expectations for deliverables are met.
- Provide guidance on DevOps, cloud, platform, and infrastructure engineering.
- Build partnerships with client engineering leadership and suggest solutions to current constraints and business policies.
