Requirements
- Lead collaborative design of enterprise or web-scale hosting platforms and administer application servers, web servers and databases.
- Bring a deep understanding of cloud and virtualization platforms, infrastructure automation and application hosting technologies.
- Have experience working with software delivery teams and applying DevOps philosophies, Agile methods and Infrastructure as Code.
- Have experience with server virtualization, at least one IaaS cloud platform and two or more application runtime platforms.
- Be able to write scripts in at least one scripting language.
- Be comfortable building Linux servers, Windows servers or container clusters.
- Have experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery tools across different technology stacks, web or mobile.
- Have worked with monitoring systems for availability, performance or security, and with observability patterns such as distributed tracing, log aggregation, audit logging, exception tracking and health checks.
- Understand security threats and approaches, including infrastructure vulnerabilities, secrets management, network security and software supply chain security.
- Communicate technical concepts to nontechnical audiences and partner with leadership on technical strategies.
Responsibilities
- Explore client needs and drive the development of technical roadmaps and solutions.
- Help shape Thoughtworks’ cloud and infrastructure practice with business development, marketing and capabilities development teams.
- Build controls and processes for continuous delivery and evolution of infrastructure and applications, automating all stages.
- Monitor project deliverables and ensure they consistently meet technical expectations.
- Provide guidance in DevOps, cloud, platform and infrastructure engineering to internal teams and clients.
- Build partnerships with client leadership across engineering and commercial functions.
- Lead the design and implementation of solutions to address constraints and business policies.
