Requirements
- Maintain an active Texas law license in good standing.
- Have at least one year of civil litigation experience.
- Have experience with discovery, motion practice, and depositions.
- Demonstrate strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
- Have strong communication and client-service abilities.
- Be self-motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced plaintiff litigation environment.
- Property insurance litigation experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage plaintiff-side property insurance litigation matters from inception through resolution.
- Communicate directly with clients about strategy, case developments, and settlement opportunities.
- Draft complaints, motions, discovery requests and responses, and legal briefs.
- Take and defend depositions.
- Attend hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences.
- Work with experienced attorneys while maintaining ownership of cases.
- Litigate matters in Illinois state and federal courts.
