Requirements
- Have worked on live capital raises or M&A processes.
- Have personally run investor or buyer outreach, not only built the deck and model.
- Hold investor relationships you built personally and be able to explain how each one began.
- Understand what investors need to see before taking a meeting and how to get a response from a busy investor.
- Demonstrate precision in investor communications.
- Treat discretion as second nature; do not include investor names in the application.
- Use AI tools daily and exercise judgment about where they improve work and where they could compromise its quality.
- Have relationships with investors who invest directly in companies; a network made mainly of fund LPs or institutional mandates is not the right fit.
Responsibilities
- Run investor processes for each opportunity, approaching the right investors in the right order and following up until there is a clear answer.
- Bring existing investor relationships and develop new ones with family offices, high-net-worth individuals, angels, and funds that invest directly in companies.
- Keep investor relationships current and qualified.
- Match opportunities to investors based on a clear understanding of what each investor is looking for.
- Stay engaged and useful to investors between opportunities.
- Judge which investors are likely to commit capital.
