Requirements
- Have 2–5 years of professional experience in sales, business development, investment banking, private equity, corporate development or a related finance role.
- Show a track record of building relationships that produced revenue or deal flow and hitting activity or pipeline targets.
- Be able to read a P&L, understand recurring revenue metrics and discuss valuation credibly.
- Have a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Communicate clearly and concisely in writing and follow up consistently.
- Be organized enough to manage a multi-event travel calendar and CRM pipeline independently.
- Be able to qualify opportunities quickly and explain fit to the deal team.
- Be comfortable working independently and remotely with a small team spread across time zones.
- Be willing and able to travel frequently within the US.
- Existing networks among software bankers, advisors or brokers are a plus.
- Prior M&A exposure, enterprise software or SaaS experience, and experience with corporate carve-outs or divestitures are nice to have.
Responsibilities
- Represent P1 at software, M&A and industry conferences across the US, roughly 1–3 events per month.
- Plan conference participation with attendee target lists, pre-booked meetings and follow-up plans.
- Build and maintain relationships with investment bankers, M&A advisors, brokers and business owners in P1's target verticals.
- Keep intermediaries informed about P1's investment criteria.
- Stay in regular contact with founders and corporate development teams at companies on the watch list.
- Generate qualified acquisition opportunities, including proprietary deals, carve-outs and banker-led processes.
- Conduct first-screen conversations with sellers and advisors and gather information for the deal team.
- Hand qualified opportunities to the investment team and remain involved in early seller interactions.
- Own and maintain the CRM, logging contacts, conversations and opportunities.
- Report weekly on pipeline, conversion and relationship activity, and help refine outreach messaging, target lists and intermediary coverage.
