Requirements

  • Have 3+ years of engineering management experience.
  • Ideally have led teams of 6–10+ engineers working on customer-facing products.
  • Have experience leading growth or conversion programs using metrics, A/B testing at scale, funnel analysis, and experimentation.
  • Have experience scaling products for enterprise or multi-location customers.
  • Demonstrate strong prioritization and decision-making across roadmaps that exceed team capacity.
  • Bring technical credibility in full-stack web development, particularly React, TypeScript, and Node.js.
  • Have experience with data-intensive systems and modern web architectures.
  • Balance hands-on technical involvement with people and engineering leadership.
  • Have experience supporting team health through high workloads or repetitive operational demands.
  • Collaborate effectively with Product, Design, and engineering partners.
  • Use strong product intuition and focus on measurable customer and business outcomes.
  • Be comfortable with urgency and ambiguity, and favor simple, practical solutions.
  • Experience with Next.js, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Temporal, Datadog, or experimentation platforms is valuable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 6–10+ full-stack engineers responsible for the guest web ordering experience and supporting systems.
  • Build and evolve experimentation capabilities to improve guest conversion across checkout, fulfillment, merchandising, and promotions.
  • Scale the ordering experience for enterprise and multi-location customers, including reliability and complex menus.
  • Improve menu quality systems through automated detection, remediation, and ongoing optimization.
  • Expand photo coverage through guest sourcing, automated replacement, licensed catalogs, and generated imagery.
  • Rebuild and improve promotions capabilities, including redemption experiences, badges, auto-apply functionality, and merchandising.
  • Reduce fulfillment selection errors and support the migration from MongoDB to PostgreSQL.
  • Prioritize roadmap work by balancing technical complexity, customer value, team capacity, and measurable business impact.
  • Partner with Product, Design, and adjacent engineering teams to align direction and deliver experiences.
  • Maintain team health, guide engineers, and set a high bar for quality, simplicity, reliability, experimentation, and sustainable delivery.
