Requirements
- Bring 7+ years of professional software development experience, including substantial experience building and operating production web applications at scale.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in modern JavaScript and TypeScript, modern frontend frameworks, HTML, and CSS.
- Understand browser behavior, responsive design, accessibility, caching, web performance, and scalable frontend architecture.
- Have experience designing reusable component systems and integrating web applications with APIs, CMS platforms, analytics platforms, experimentation tools, and other services.
- Know technical SEO, including crawlability, indexing, metadata, structured data, site architecture, redirects, canonicalization, and performance.
- Have familiarity with Answer Engine Optimization and AI-powered discovery.
- Apply clean, maintainable code practices, thoughtful testing, version control, and incremental delivery.
- Demonstrate the ability to measure and improve performance, accessibility, reliability, and quality of high-traffic web applications.
- Translate ambiguous customer or business needs into technical problems and independently drive solutions through production.
- Experience with Payload CMS or another modern headless CMS, including content modeling and architecture for large, content-rich websites, is a plus.
- Familiarity with Astro or similar frameworks, static or server-rendered architectures, internationalization and localization, experimentation, conversion optimization, growth marketing, or content-focused web development is advantageous.
- Experience creating structured content or content APIs for AI assistants, search systems, or other downstream platforms is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain performant, responsive, accessible, and reliable web experiences for millions of visitors.
- Own projects from discovery and technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, measurement, iteration, and optimization.
- Develop scalable frontend architectures, reusable components, and content models.
- Build and maintain integrations with CMS platforms, analytics and experimentation tools, APIs, and other services.
- Partner with Marketing, Content, SEO, Design, and Product stakeholders to turn requirements into technical solutions and publishing workflows.
- Apply technical SEO and Answer Engine Optimization practices to improve content discoverability.
- Monitor and optimize Core Web Vitals, accessibility, performance, reliability, and overall web quality.
- Contribute to platform direction by improving architecture, developer experience, testing, code review, documentation, and mentoring.
- Support modernization of websites, CMS platforms, frontend architectures, and content delivery systems.
