Requirements
- Bring 5+ years of backend software engineering experience designing, building, and maintaining production services at significant scale.
- Have professional production experience with Go or a comparable backend programming language.
- Have experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Have experience with message-based architectures such as Kafka or equivalent technologies.
- Demonstrate strong system design capabilities and sound architectural decision-making.
- Have a track record of resolving quality, performance, reliability, and scalability challenges in distributed systems.
- Have experience with testing, documentation, code reviews, refactoring, and maintaining high-quality production systems.
- Have experience mentoring engineers and contributing to strong engineering standards.
- Be able to collaborate with product and engineering stakeholders and clearly communicate complex technical concepts.
- Use generative AI responsibly in the engineering workflow, with appropriate human oversight and understanding of generated outputs.
Responsibilities
- Own the design, development, and scaling of backend services for settlements and transfers across fiat, cryptocurrency, and internal ledger systems.
- Maintain code quality through code reviews, refactoring, testing, and documentation throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Lead performance and scalability initiatives for critical financial infrastructure.
- Investigate production issues, troubleshoot system behavior, and drive resolutions.
- Translate product objectives into quarterly technical roadmaps, priorities, and deliverables with product and engineering stakeholders.
- Propose and implement architectural improvements to increase engineering velocity, reduce technical debt, and strengthen reliability and maintainability.
- Make and communicate system design decisions, lead technical proposals, and build alignment across engineering teams.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and promote strong engineering practices.
- Own complex backend initiatives from design through implementation, testing, deployment, production support, and continuous improvement.
