Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, supply chain, or a related technical discipline.
- 6+ years of experience in supplier quality, supplier industrialization, or a related function within an electronics manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on knowledge of PCBA manufacturing, including SMT processing, wave or selective soldering, reflow profiling, component placement, and AOI, SPI, and X-ray inspection.
- Strong understanding of IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD-001, IPC-6012, and IPC-6013.
- Expertise in design for manufacturing, design for test, and design for assembly.
- Ability and willingness to travel at least 50% of the time.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
- Preferred experience in defense, aerospace, automotive, high-tech, or other advanced electronics manufacturing.
- RF/microwave assemblies and high-reliability electronics experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, and other quality management systems and certifications is preferred.
- High-mix, low-volume manufacturing experience is advantageous.
- Lean/Six Sigma certification or demonstrated continuous-improvement expertise is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead supplier industrialization for EW electronics from early PCBA builds and NPI through production ramp and lifecycle support.
- Own electrical commodities including PCBs and PCBAs, cables and harnesses, connectors, electronic components, and RF/microwave components.
- Develop supplier production strategies for the transition from NPI to full-scale production.
- Evaluate supplier manufacturing capabilities, facilities, factory layouts, equipment, and workforce for qualification and approval.
- Partner with engineering and suppliers to identify and mitigate DFM, DFT, and DFA risks before design lock.
- Lead supplier-site process development, including production lines, tooling, SMT configurations, reflow profiles, inspection, and production test cells.
- Drive capacity expansion readiness, rough-cut capacity planning, takt-time studies, and throughput improvements.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing-readiness documentation, including process flows, PFMEAs, Control Plans, GR&R studies, and yield targets.
- Monitor supplier performance through statistical process control reviews of critical-to-quality parameters.
- Implement product and process improvements, factory-layout optimization, and value-engineering initiatives; support root-cause and corrective/preventive actions.
