- Experience
- Bachelors level with a CADC or working towards a CADC with a minimum of one year of qualifying clinical experience. Associates level with a CAAC or working towards a CAAC with a minimum of two years of qualifying clinical experience. Current licensure as a registered nurse and a nursing degree require one year of qualifying clinical experience.
Requirements
- Reside in Pennsylvania and hold the required Pennsylvania licensure.
- Meet an applicable qualification pathway for ASAM-aligned substance use programs or ASAM-aligned co-occurring enhanced programs.
- For an ASAM-aligned substance use program, qualify through a relevant accredited master’s degree with master’s-level licensure or certification, or be working toward that licensure or certification.
- For an ASAM-aligned substance use program, a bachelor’s-level candidate must hold or be working toward a CADC and have at least one year of qualifying clinical experience.
- For an ASAM-aligned substance use program, an associate-level candidate must hold or be working toward a CAAC and have at least two years of qualifying clinical experience.
- A high school diploma or equivalent with a CAAC is listed as a qualification pathway for ASAM-aligned substance use programs.
- A registered nurse may qualify for an ASAM-aligned substance use program with current Commonwealth licensure, a degree from an accredited nursing school, and one year of qualifying clinical experience.
- For an ASAM-aligned co-occurring enhanced program, meet one of the listed master’s-level education and licensure or certification pathways.
- Have knowledge of substance use disorder treatment, mental health treatment, and recovery-oriented care.
- Have working knowledge of federal and state requirements, accreditation standards, and compliance standards.
- Be able to gather, organize, and communicate assessment-related information accurately and recognize crisis situations.
- Travel frequently throughout assigned service areas and participate in on-call rotations as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual, family, and group clinical services and communicate with referral sources and outpatient providers as needed.
- Conduct mobile behavioral health and substance use disorder assessments within assigned service areas.
- Complete biopsychosocial assessments, clinical evaluations, intakes, and reassessments.
- Assess clients’ behavioral, emotional, cognitive, social, environmental, and recovery support needs.
- Perform ASAM assessments and determine appropriate levels of care in accordance with credentials, licensing standards, and regulations.
- Develop admission, treatment, and clinical recommendations based on assessment findings, and complete individualized treatment plans with clients and the treatment team.
- Coordinate treatment and admission planning with referral sources, hospitals, emergency departments, providers, families, and community partners.
- Facilitate utilization review processes and document information supporting authorizations and continued stay reviews.
- Support aftercare planning, referrals, and continuity of care coordination.
- Maintain timely, accurate, compliant documentation and participate in on-call rotations as assigned.
