Job Details

Deep technical expertise in backend engineering and systems design, with a track record of architecture-level decisions for complex, integration-heavy systems.
Strong professional experience with Python and AWS serverless technologies, including Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and EventBridge.
Solid understanding of event-driven architectures and distributed systems.
Full Stack or Backend Engineering experience in a startup, scale-up, or fast-paced product environment.
Experience owning complex projects from inception through delivery.
Ability to work with incomplete specifications and turn ambiguous problems into practical, well-scoped technical plans.
Experience delivering projects with critical dependencies owned by other teams, collaborating and influencing without direct authority.
Strong product mindset and ability to connect technical decisions to commercial outcomes and business or customer value.
Comfort working hands-on across the stack; React and TypeScript experience is a plus, not a core requirement.
Strong engineering judgment and ability to reason about quality, scalability, reliability, system boundaries, and failure modes.
Experience mentoring engineers or setting technical direction is desirable but not required.
Experience in energy, fintech, or another regulated or high-stakes commercial environment is advantageous.

Own architecture-level decisions for complex, integration-heavy systems, defining system boundaries, contracts, dependencies, and failure modes.
Design and build technical foundations connecting new-product initiatives with pricing, settlement, data, billing, and other core platforms.
Turn commercially driven and ambiguous problems into practical technical approaches and shippable plans.
Help develop and launch new product categories from concept through production and qualified commercial pipeline.
Automate and productise tendering, pricing, contracting, onboarding, and other manual workflows.
Design deal-gating and risk-management tooling for new categories of commercial risk.
Deliver integrations and technical outcomes across organizational boundaries.
Build backend services and contribute to React and TypeScript frontend development when appropriate.
Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code; participate in code reviews; and improve engineering practices and documentation.
Measure and improve the reliability, scalability, and business impact of systems.
