Requirements
- Have at least 1 year of coding experience in Risk Adjustment; 2 years is preferred.
- Hold a coding certification through AAPC or AHIMA, such as CPC or CRC; CPC-A and CCA are not accepted.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrate high competency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced production environment.
- Be able to work independently under regular supervision.
- Reside in Arizona.
- Complete the initial 30 days onsite at the Scottsdale office and remain in good standing to transition to remote work.
Responsibilities
- Perform code abstraction of medical records and diagnostic imaging to assign supported ICD-10-CM codes for HCC risk adjustment.
- Identify diagnosis- and chart-level impairments and documentation improvement opportunities for provider education.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance coding goals and outcomes.
- Maintain current knowledge of ICD-10-CM codes, CMS documentation requirements, and state and federal regulations.
- Meet minimum productivity requirements outlined by the project terms.
- Handle other related duties as required or assigned.
