Requirements
- Strong proficiency administering Linux systems, including CentOS, Debian, and Ubuntu.
- Experience applying systems-level troubleshooting and analysis to resolve non-routine technical issues.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or similar.
- Hands-on experience configuring and supporting web servers.
- Hands-on experience configuring and supporting databases and caching solutions.
- Hands-on experience configuring and supporting firewalls.
- Understanding of common Linux utilities and system tooling.
- Understanding of server and application architecture, including security hardening.
- Understanding of distributed storage solutions such as Ceph.
- Understanding of virtualization technologies, load balancing concepts, and core networking concepts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and implement Linux system upgrades, enhancements, and infrastructure changes.
- Administer Linux servers and services and resolve complex performance, stability, and security issues.
- Analyze root causes of Linux-related issues and determine remediation strategies.
- Partner with engineering and operations teams on data center deployments, system configuration, and application readiness.
- Perform application and system migrations, evaluating dependencies, risks, and execution approaches.
- Monitor system performance and security posture and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain automation, scripts, and tooling to improve operational efficiency.
- Maintain technical documentation, system diagrams, and operational standards.
