Requirements
- Strong track record in software engineering, AI, or another computer engineering discipline, such as cybersecurity or MLOps.
- Experience managing, growing, and leading technical teams, including building startups and scaling teams or managing managers.
- Experience with relevant parts of the technology stack, such as Python, LLM APIs, local LLM frameworks, evaluation frameworks, LLM agents, cloud infrastructure, or compute clusters.
- Ability to thrive in rapidly evolving environments.
- Demonstrated drive for mission and impact, including interest in affecting frontier AI systems.
- Ability to communicate technical solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated persistence in achieving ambitious goals.
- Experience building or red-teaming frontier LLMs or agentic systems is a plus.
- Experience building technical teams and products in an entrepreneurial environment is a plus.
- Experience discovering high-severity vulnerabilities in complex systems is a plus.
- Experience in adversarial machine learning or security is a plus.
- Prior collaboration with AI labs, security teams, or government safety institutes is a plus.
- Published work in AI safety, security, or robustness is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Build and scale internal and external red-teaming tools and products to improve testing speed, coverage, and severity of findings.
- Develop agentic systems to explore attack spaces and identify and integrate new public jailbreaks and other releases.
- Advance attacker simulation and harmfulness evaluation; maintain vulnerability databases, statistical analysis tools, and reporting infrastructure.
- Build systems and workflows that support high-stakes red-teaming engagements with frontier AI companies and governments.
- Contribute to red-teaming frontier models and improve testing systems based on engagement insights.
- Plan sprints and lead engineering execution, translating technical goals into scalable plans, teams, and systems.
- Manage, mentor, and support engineering and red-teaming individual contributors; hire engineering managers and other roles as needed.
- Create processes for high-tempo engagements and design hiring pipelines in partnership with the red team and recruiting team.
- Identify engineering bottlenecks, prioritize solutions, and contribute to the red team’s technical and product strategy.
