Requirements
- Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in computer science, information systems, engineering, a mathematics-intensive discipline, or another relevant technical field.
- Have 5–8 years of practical experience, subject to the stated education and certification equivalencies.
- Have relevant offensive security credentials and experience, including OSCP with at least 3 years of practical experience, NSA RIOT training, or an accredited DoD Red Team Apprentice (Level I) certification.
- Obtain CEH and CISSP certifications upon hire.
- Have specialized experience in red teaming, CNA, CNE, CND, penetration testing, or a closely related offensive security discipline.
- Develop tools and scripts using multiple programming languages; experience with PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ruby, or Node.js is required.
- Have experience conducting web application security assessments and evaluating application vulnerabilities.
- Understand TCP/IP protocols as they relate to network security.
- Have experience with offensive security tools and environments such as Kali Linux, Metasploit, Cobalt Strike, and intercepting proxies.
- Use network protocol analyzers and sniffers and interpret packet captures.
- Manage multiple concurrent penetration testing engagements from initiation through completion.
- Travel approximately 15–30% or less, depending on program requirements.
Responsibilities
- Conduct penetration tests and authorized red team assessments across customer networks, applications, systems, and infrastructure.
- Apply structured security testing methodologies and industry standards throughout engagements.
- Research emerging threats, vulnerabilities, exploitation techniques, and adversarial approaches.
- Develop specialized tools and scripts from concept through production to support authorized security testing.
- Design and configure test environments for penetration testing, training, demonstrations, and exercises.
- Analyze network traffic using protocol analyzers and packet captures.
- Perform web application security assessments and evaluate vulnerabilities.
- Manage multiple penetration testing engagements from planning through completion, including documentation and deliverables.
- Support training events, conferences, exercises, and demonstrations.
- Contribute to technical interviews, documentation, proposal development, and proposal reviews.
