Requirements

  • Have hands-on experience administering developer tooling at organizational scale.
  • Have practical GitHub administration experience, including organization and enterprise settings, rulesets, and branch protections.
  • Have experience with GitHub Apps and integrations, GitHub Actions, SSO/SCIM, and access management.
  • Be familiar with secret scanning, code security, and audit logs.
  • Use Terraform and the GitHub API to automate configuration, drift detection, and reporting.
  • Have scripting experience with Bash, Python, TypeScript, or similar.
  • Be comfortable hosting and running tools in AWS; EKS experience is preferred.
  • Apply least-privilege principles and sound secret-management practices, and partner with security teams.
  • Be able to define baselines and work autonomously amid ambiguity.
  • Influence developer adoption of standards and provide consultative support.
  • Be fluent with AI coding tools, particularly Claude or Cursor, and use agents responsibly for automation, reporting, and migration work.

Responsibilities

  • Own GitHub administration across multiple organizations, more than 900 repositories, and more than 300 developers.
  • Define GitHub operational and security baselines, including repository creation, branch protections, rulesets, reviews, secret scanning, and least-privilege access.
  • Build golden paths that make secure, standardized repository configurations the default for teams.
  • Automate configuration drift detection, compliance reporting, and guided enforcement through bots and dashboards.
  • Partner with Platform Security on access controls, secret management, and alerting.
  • Lead a phased rollout of GitHub standards, including pilots, broader adoption, and hands-on migration support.
  • Extend the administration and integration model to Jira, Datadog, JFrog, and other SDLC tools.
  • Help define how the new Developer Operations team works as it grows.
