- Minimum of 3 years related experience
Requirements
- Have a high school diploma or GED.
- Hold Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification by AHIMA.
- Have a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
- Score 80% or above on the outpatient and inpatient coding exams.
- Demonstrate knowledge of basic ICD-10 training.
- Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
- Demonstrate PC and software proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Code ER, outpatient, outpatient surgery, observation, and inpatient records.
- Work CCI and medical necessity edits as needed.
- Monitor unbilled records for all coded patient types day to day.
- Maintain quality at or above 95%.
- Maintain productivity at or above 95%.
- Complete continuing education as required.
- Work with internal and external customers by telephone or face-to-face interaction.
