Requirements
- Have 5 years of experience through either an active RN license with 3+ years of acute care experience, such as ICU, emergency, or rapid response, or commensurate healthcare experience.
- Be able to understand the clinical aspects of sepsis and clinical deterioration.
- Have experience with EHRs such as Epic or Cerner, or experience in clinical informatics, clinical research, or clinical decision support.
- Have exposure to SEP-1 or sepsis bundle abstraction and quality reporting.
- Have familiarity with medical device quality standards such as QMSR or ISO 13485, or clear eagerness to build that knowledge.
- Be comfortable reading structured clinical data exports and spreadsheets.
- Reason from vitals, labs, medications, and documentation to reach defensible conclusions.
- Communicate clearly in writing to clinician and clinical informatics audiences.
- Work independently and demonstrate the ability to improve and document processes.
- Learn technical products quickly and verify AI tool outputs rather than passing them through.
- Stay organized and accurate in a ticket-driven, data-heavy environment with concurrent cases.
Responsibilities
- Review sepsis alert cases by examining encounter records, establishing clinical timelines, and determining whether alerts behaved as designed.
- Produce case reviews with cited evidence and recommended next actions.
- Review AI-assisted triage and classification outputs and correct them when they do not match the clinical facts.
- Respond to clinicians and clinical informatics teams using communication standards that protect patient privacy and avoid giving clinical direction.
- Route issues to accountable teams, provide clinical context, and drive tickets through closure.
- Manage concurrent cases against response commitments, prioritizing by clinical and client risk.
- Identify and quantify recurring patterns such as mapping failures, interface latency, and suppression gaps.
- Create and improve case review templates, evidence standards, response language, triage rules, and escalation paths.
- Document product complaints and assemble clinical evidence; after training, contribute to disposition of possible anomalies in the release process.
