Requirements
- Experience building large-scale data or backend products.
- Experience with systems where volume, latency, reliability, and cost matter.
- Experience shipping products from concept to production, including scoping, architecture, implementation, release, measurement, and iteration.
- Ability to reason about distributed systems, throughput, failure modes, data flow, scalability, and operational tradeoffs.
- Experience building LLM-powered or agentic features in production.
- Ability to compare models and balance capability against latency and cost.
- Ability to work autonomously on ambiguous problems and turn incomplete context into forward motion.
- Ability to explain technical tradeoffs and collaborate across engineering and non-engineering teams.
- Experience working in a fast-moving product environment with incremental delivery and changing priorities.
Responsibilities
- Improve retrieval, filtering, ranking, relevance, and speed across creator profiles and media files.
- Build systems that generate and use embeddings from images, video, text, and audio at scale.
- Evaluate models and technologies against cost, latency, and quality tradeoffs.
- Move promising search approaches from experiments into reliable production systems.
- Gather requirements, shape problems, and design system architecture.
- Write, release, measure, and improve end-to-end search solutions.
- Investigate search relevance issues and production regressions across models, data, query logic, and product decisions.
- Collaborate with Data Core, Data Insights, product teams, customers, and company leadership.
