Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 15+ years of experience working in software engineering environments.
- 10+ years managing senior individual contributors, technical leads, and engineering managers, including managers of managers.
- Direct experience developing network observability, network performance monitoring, or network and infrastructure management products.
- Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals and telemetry, including TCP/IP, routing and switching, NetFlow/IPFIX, SNMP, packet analysis, WAN/SD-WAN, and related technologies.
- Familiarity with ClickHouse, Prometheus/Grafana, and Kubernetes.
- Experience delivering high-performance hardware or appliance-based systems for network telemetry and packet processing.
- Strong technical knowledge of SaaS/PaaS engineering and on-premises enterprise software delivery.
- Software development background in Java, C++, or comparable object-oriented programming languages.
- Experience operating at the C-level or reporting directly to C-level leadership.
- Experience in collaborative and agile software development environments.
- Preferred experience includes public cloud platforms, high-throughput data pipelines, streaming systems, time-series technologies, and large-scale data storage.
- Additional preferred experience includes AIOps or machine learning for network operations, modernization toward open-source and cloud-portable architectures, and government requirements such as FedRAMP, StateRAMP, and ATO processes.
Responsibilities
- Set the technical direction and multi-year engineering roadmap for network observability, network performance monitoring, and infrastructure monitoring.
- Lead teams responsible for enterprise infrastructure products and services across SaaS and on-premises environments.
- Define and evolve architectures that ingest, process, and analyze network telemetry.
- Drive AI, machine learning, generative AI, and agentic capabilities for anomaly detection, root-cause analysis, and predictive network insights.
- Establish strategies for evolving long-lived codebases, addressing technical debt, and modernizing the technology stack.
- Build and lead geographically distributed engineering organizations, including collaboration across multiple sites and offshore teams.
- Coach and develop engineering managers, senior individual contributors, and technical leaders.
- Establish software development standards, engineering processes, and organizational best practices.
- Partner with Product Management and executive leadership to align technical priorities with business objectives.
- Engage with strategic enterprise and government customers, support critical relationships, resolve escalations, and ensure reliable, high-performance delivery.
