Requirements

  • Hold a BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Have 15+ years of experience in a software engineering environment.
  • Have 10+ years managing senior individual contributors and leads or managers, including managers of managers.
  • Have direct experience building network observability, network performance monitoring, or network/infrastructure management products.
  • Demonstrate fluency in networking fundamentals and telemetry, including TCP/IP, routing and switching, NetFlow/IPFIX, SNMP, packet analysis, and WAN/SD-WAN.
  • Have experience with open-source technologies such as ClickHouse, Prometheus/Grafana, and Kubernetes.
  • Have experience delivering high-performance hardware or appliances for network telemetry and packets.
  • Have detailed technical experience in SaaS or PaaS engineering and on-prem enterprise software delivery.
  • Have development experience in Java, C++, or similar object-oriented languages.
  • Have experience operating at, or reporting directly to, the C-level.
  • Have experience in a collaborative, agile development environment.
  • Preferred: hands-on public cloud experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, or Oracle, and experience with high-throughput data pipelines and analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Set the technical direction and multi-year engineering roadmap for the network observability product line.
  • Lead engineering teams delivering enterprise infrastructure products and services across SaaS and on-prem environments.
  • Architect and scale platforms that ingest, process, and analyze network telemetry.
  • Deliver AI capabilities for anomaly detection, root-cause analysis, and predictive insights.
  • Evolve long-lived code bases and develop plans to retire technical debt.
  • Build geographically distributed engineering teams and manage work transitions across offshore teams and multiple sites.
  • Coach and develop managers and senior technical leaders.
  • Establish software development standards, processes, and practices across the organization.
  • Develop strategic plans with Product Management, executive leadership, and team members.
  • Engage enterprise and government strategic accounts to understand technical requirements and resolve escalations.
