Requirements

  • Have 8+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Have a record of building and shipping customer-facing software in production.
  • Have owned technical direction across a product area.
  • Have set agent patterns and AI-powered solutions reused by multiple teams.
  • Bring depth in systems, data models, and architecture, including performance and data-flow tradeoffs.
  • Be able to define specification standards and review gates across teams.
  • Have command of context engineering for reliable agent execution.
  • Have designed agent workflows for parallel execution with human checkpoints.
  • Be able to read unfamiliar code and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Have set security and privacy review standards covering injection, data handling, and unsafe generated output.
  • Be fluent in test design and evaluation standards, version control at multi-team scale, and safe release practices including CI/CD, feature flags, staged rollout, and rollback.
  • Have experience operating and maintaining production software with observability, metrics, traces, and incident response.
  • Have mentored engineers across teams and shaped technical direction beyond a single team.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills, including synthesizing technical strategy and tradeoffs for leadership and teams.

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical direction of a product area and set how multiple teams specify, delegate, and verify agentic work.
  • Define specification-quality standards and the review gates that enforce them.
  • Establish heuristics for when work warrants agentic execution versus direct implementation.
  • Coordinate human and agentic contributors across teams on large-scale efforts.
  • Set verification practices calibrated to risk and blast radius.
  • Set the security architecture for agentic work, including data-flow boundaries, access controls, and threat models.
  • Establish readiness criteria for safely delegating agentic work.
  • Build prompts, agent instructions, repository conventions, test harnesses, and playbooks.
  • Resolve high-risk technical decisions and partner with product leadership on roadmap direction.
  • Mentor engineers across teams on specifying, delegating, and verifying agentic work.
