Requirements
- Hold a BS or advanced degree in Computer Science or a related field, or have 4 years of equivalent professional experience.
- Have 12-15 years of software development experience working on server-side applications, particularly API servers, third-party integrations, and data processing.
- Have expertise in a compiled language such as Go, Java, or Kotlin.
- Have proficiency with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, including schema design, SQL tuning, and database monitoring.
- Demonstrate experience designing and implementing scalable APIs.
- Have a solid understanding of design patterns, database design, and testing best practices.
- Bring working knowledge of GraphQL APIs, CI/CD pipelines, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Work independently on features and accurately forecast delivery milestones while aligning expectations with stakeholders.
- Use a disciplined approach to software design and development.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain SmithRx product features, focusing on back-end architecture.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and technical leads to translate functional and technical requirements into scalable software and services.
- Estimate scope and risk for system and feature builds and create technical design documentation.
- Apply software development best practices, design patterns, testing, automation, tools, and technologies.
- Use AWS technologies such as Lambda and Fargate for jobs and batch processing.
- Triage production issues, assess impact, plan short- and long-term mitigation, and perform root cause analysis.
- Coach and mentor junior team members through project feedback, code reviews, and design reviews.
- Work with senior leadership to turn technical vision into a quarterly roadmap.
