Requirements
- Have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, science, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Have 3–8 years of software testing, software quality engineering, or software validation experience.
- Have experience working in a regulated industry such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, clinical research, digital health, healthcare, or medical devices.
- Understand software quality and validation principles within a controlled Quality Management System.
- Have experience developing and executing documented software test cases, procedures, and protocols.
- Have experience maintaining requirements-to-test traceability and documented verification and validation evidence.
- Have experience with software defect management, investigation, root-cause analysis, and regression testing.
- Have experience developing and maintaining automated software tests.
- Understand Agile software development and its application within a regulated software lifecycle.
- Have working knowledge of Git or another modern version-control system.
- Have strong documentation skills and attention to detail, and be able to work independently and take ownership of software quality activities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software test strategies, test plans, test cases, test procedures, and validation documentation.
- Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites for application workflows, APIs, integrations, regression testing, and critical system functionality.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and build-triggered quality processes.
- Perform risk-based testing and focus verification on functionality with product, data integrity, security, or clinical risk.
- Review product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical designs for clarity, testability, and verification coverage.
- Maintain traceability among requirements, risks, test cases, test execution, defects, and release evidence.
- Execute formal and exploratory testing, document objective evidence, and investigate and reproduce software defects.
- Collaborate with developers and cross-functional teams to determine root causes, verify corrective actions, and complete release quality and validation gates.
- Support software verification, validation, change-control, nonconformance, corrective-action, CAPA, and audit-readiness activities.
