Requirements
- Have 3+ years of experience in software testing, SDET or test automation roles, including significant Android automation experience.
- Have hands-on experience with Android automation frameworks such as Espresso, UI Automator, Appium or similar tools.
- Be proficient in Kotlin and/or Java.
- Have experience designing and maintaining scalable automated test frameworks.
- Have experience with Android Studio, Gradle and Android build workflows.
- Have experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Have experience testing native Android applications across emulators and physical devices.
- Understand the Android application lifecycle, permissions, background processes and platform-specific behavior.
- Have experience working with software engineers to improve testability and resolve complex defects.
- Have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain automated test frameworks for native Android applications.
- Build and extend automated suites for functional, regression, integration and end-to-end coverage.
- Develop automated tests using Espresso, UI Automator, Appium or similar Android testing frameworks.
- Integrate Android test automation into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Bitrise or similar platforms.
- Execute automated tests across Android emulators and physical devices.
- Partner with Android engineers to improve application testability and automation coverage.
- Investigate test failures, identify root causes and improve automation stability and reliability.
- Validate application behavior across Android versions, device types and configurations.
- Identify gaps in automated coverage and prioritize high-value scenarios for automation.
- Use AI-assisted tools to support test development, debugging, root-cause analysis, documentation and workflow efficiency.
