Requirements
- Have 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Have at least 1–2 years in a technical lead or de facto lead capacity, owning a team’s technical direction.
- Bring a strong hands-on engineering background and experience building consumer-facing web products at scale.
- Have experience shipping AI-powered product features beyond using AI coding assistants.
- Have experience working with Product Managers on roadmap development, feature definition, prioritization, and product strategy.
- Be comfortable serving as the primary escalation point for production incidents and technical issues.
- Have strong experience with TypeScript and Node.js, and be able to work with PHP 7.4/8+ and Laravel during an existing-system transition.
- Be familiar with MariaDB, Redis, AWS services including EC2, RDS, CloudWatch, SQS, and S3, Docker, and GitHub Actions CI/CD.
- Have a strong understanding of testing, code quality, technical risk management, and production reliability.
- Have hands-on experience using AI coding tools daily and be able to assess whether AI-assisted workflows improve productivity without adding engineering overhead.
- Be able to balance hands-on individual contribution with team leadership, mentoring, prioritization, and delivery ownership.
- Experience with complex page builders, website or funnel editors, WYSIWYG tools, or similar visual editing products is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical direction of the editor and develop AI-powered capabilities such as content generation, layout suggestions, and personalization.
- Lead sprint planning, task breakdown, prioritization, progress tracking, and resolution of technical or cross-team blockers.
- Take on critical-path engineering work and ensure important features reach production.
- Maintain standards for code reviews, technical decisions, testing, and maintainability.
- Own incident response and production health for the editor, acting as the primary escalation point.
- Partner with Product to define roadmap priorities and feature opportunities.
- Evaluate AI product ideas against user workflows and conversion objectives.
- Use AI coding tools and establish team practices for reviewing, testing, and maintaining AI-assisted work.
- Write unit and integration tests and identify edge cases and risks during planning.
- Mentor engineers and support their technical growth.
