Requirements

  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Have 7+ years of experience in transportation.
  • Demonstrate quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Be proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and database software.
  • Understand the independent contractor relationship.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and clean, functional vehicle.
  • Work from home and travel throughout the assigned area as required.
  • Work additional hours to address operational issues when necessary.
  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
  • An associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage $10M to $15M of revenue across an assigned geography.
  • Lead Operations Managers and On-Site Coordinators to meet customer expectations and budgeted financial goals.
  • Ensure Operations Managers meet with clients regularly and visit all customers quarterly to assess service.
  • Monitor customer KPIs and service issues, responding promptly with resolutions and action plans.
  • Lead implementation of new business as needed.
  • Monitor recruiting and courier job acceptance to ensure enough independent contractors are available to provide services.
  • Monitor independent contractor compliance with contractual requirements, including apparel, scanning, and service metrics.
  • Ensure area gross margin exceeds budgeted targets and review and approve driver pay activities.
  • Identify margin improvement opportunities and work with Operations team members to implement them.
  • Develop and coach direct reports and monitor their activities.
