Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent; an advanced degree is a plus.
- 5–8 years of experience in inventory management, supply chain operations, or category management.
- Demonstrated ownership of inventory strategy and P&L outcomes, including dead stock reduction, working capital improvement, or fill rate performance.
- Strong command of safety stock, reorder points, MTO/MTS switching, demand forecasting, and SKU lifecycle management.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional execution across Logistics, Procurement, Finance, Data Management, and IT through influence rather than direct authority.
- Proficiency with Excel and Google Sheets.
- Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP or inventory planning systems; Python and Sigma are a plus.
- Ability to travel as needed, approximately 10–15% annually, primarily domestically.
- Experience in industrial distribution, mechanical components, or B2B manufacturing is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Define replenishment parameters, govern reorder points, monitor excess positions, and determine MTO-to-stock transitions across assigned SKU categories.
- Run the new SKU selection tool, apply Pre-Entry Scoring Gate guidelines, and manage the internal stocking request workflow.
- Analyze stock turnover, own the replenishment order list, enforce the no-replenishment-without-demand rule, and lead the Monthly Inventory Health Review.
- Lead dead stock and excess reduction programs through promotion, fire sale or bundling, and physical disposal.
- Align inventory actions with the Distribution Curation & Value Selling Strategy and contribute data and recommendations to the Product Curation Council.
- Coordinate supplier-facing inventory matters, including MOQ renegotiation, return or rotation agreements, and consignment terms.
- Translate inventory strategy into direction for supporting teams and surface inventory insights to leadership.
