Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Bring 10+ years of progressive, on-site HSEQ leadership experience, including substantial exposure to large-scale EPC/EPCM projects.
- Have experience supporting multi-contractor, high-risk industrial construction environments and complex project delivery models.
- Demonstrate the ability to influence project teams, contractors, clients, and senior stakeholders without direct reporting authority.
- Have experience with construction management models relying on contractor execution and client-contractor interface management.
- Possess working knowledge of construction-phase HSEQ controls, contractor management, incident investigation, assurance processes, and regulatory compliance.
- Be comfortable balancing strategic HSEQ governance with practical, field-based support and engagement.
- Be willing and able to travel regularly to project locations across the United States.
- Professional certifications such as CSP, CMIOSH, NEBOSH, CRSP, or equivalent are preferred.
- Experience in energy transition, power, renewable energy, industrial decarbonization, chemicals, manufacturing, mining, or major infrastructure projects is advantageous.
- Experience supporting owner’s EPC/EPCM models across multiple concurrent projects, and international or remote project environments, is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead development and implementation of portfolio-wide HSEQ strategy, standards, and project-level processes.
- Advise Project Directors and EPC/EPCM leadership throughout project development, execution, construction, commissioning, and turnover.
- Translate HSEQ expectations into field behaviors, controls, leadership routines, and project execution requirements.
- Provide HSEQ input during proposals and contract negotiations and define governance models, roles, and execution plans.
- Lead contractor onboarding, alignment sessions, audits, and performance reviews, incorporating HSEQ requirements into procurement and mobilization.
- Provide governance and assurance for hazard identification, construction risk assessments, high-risk work reviews, incident management, and field controls.
- Conduct project site visits, leadership engagements, and assurance reviews; support incident investigations and communicate lessons learned.
- Oversee compliance, represent the organization in audits and inspections, and establish project reporting using leading and lagging indicators.
