Requirements
- 5+ years designing and implementing complex systems end to end in integrated enterprise environments.
- Experience building and maintaining custom author-facing tools, workflows, automations, and integrations in an enterprise headless CMS; Contentstack preferred.
- Experience owning delivery of projects spanning multiple workstreams, including loosely defined work.
- Depth in front-end and back-end development, preferably with TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
- Strong working knowledge of large-scale content data analysis, bulk updates, and reporting, including efficient processing of large data volumes.
- Ability to build and operate high-performance, scalable, fault-tolerant internal tooling and design for failure modes and operational requirements.
- Fluency with agentic development workflows, including directing AI agents to explore, prototype, implement, and review, and verifying their output.
- Clear technical writing, including design documents that explain benefits, risks, and tradeoffs, and a habit of seeking peer review.
- Experience mentoring engineers and giving actionable feedback.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, shape problem definitions, drive alignment, manage projects, and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred: experience with enterprise taxonomy or knowledge graph platforms; familiarity with large-scale web application architecture, well-designed APIs, high-volume data pipelines, and efficient algorithms; experience with Tableau or Grafana; BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Deliver major projects end to end across the software development lifecycle, breaking work down and building delivery plans.
- Lead a small engineering pod when a project calls for it.
- Map and improve authoring workflows with content, product, and engineering partners, translating them into technical requirements.
- Build reporting, product integrations, and AI-assisted authoring and editing features.
- Extend the Contentstack headless CMS with custom UI extensions and React authoring apps that follow Airbnb’s Design Language System.
- Build integrations for structured taxonomy and knowledge graph capabilities across support and knowledge surfaces.
- Improve content organization, security, and discoverability using taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, and metadata standards.
- Design for reliability, security, maintainability, and observability; identify failure modes, participate in incident response, and implement corrective actions.
- Improve or deprecate low-quality code, services, and frameworks, and contribute to technical designs and code reviews.
- Document technical solutions and tradeoffs, analyze data and experiment to improve content experiences, and coach and mentor engineers.
