Requirements

  • Hold a CPA designation.
  • Have progressive experience in financial analysis, compensation programs, budgeting, or a related discipline.
  • Have strong experience with advanced Excel, including financial modelling, data analysis, and complex calculations.
  • Have practical experience with forecasting, accruals, variance analysis, operational budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Know compensation, commission, incentive, or broker compensation programs.
  • Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving abilities and the ability to turn complex financial information into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Show attention to detail and accuracy in complex financial calculations and reporting.
  • Communicate effectively and build relationships with senior leaders and cross-functional business partners.
  • Manage multiple priorities and time-sensitive deliverables through annual planning cycles.
  • Insurance industry experience and a CIP designation are considered strong assets.

Responsibilities

  • Manage complex broker compensation programs, including contingent profit commissions and incentive arrangements, and ensure accurate, timely administration.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, accruals, variance analysis, and financial reporting for broker compensation activities.
  • Analyze financial and compensation data, explain trends and variances, and develop recommendations for business leaders.
  • Partner with Corporate and regional Sales & Distribution teams and Finance on compensation initiatives and strategic planning.
  • Provide financial insights to help leaders understand compensation performance and forecast future requirements.
  • Manage annual planning cycles, multiple priorities, deadlines, and deliverables while maintaining accuracy.
  • Identify improvements to compensation processes, reporting, controls, and operational efficiency.
  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders and communicate financial information to financial and non-financial audiences.
