Requirements
- Consultant II: At least 1 year of professional software engineering experience.
- Senior Consultant I & II: At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience, with increasing independence in complex development work.
- Lead: At least 5 years of experience with demonstrated technical leadership and ability to influence engineering direction.
- Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, object-oriented design, and modern software engineering practices.
- Professional experience with Java, Spring, JavaScript, and React.
- Backend development experience involving APIs, relational and/or NoSQL databases, caching, and messaging systems.
- Frontend development experience building responsive web or mobile applications.
- Familiarity with cloud-native development, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and continuous delivery.
- Ability to work in agile teams and collaborate through paired programming, knowledge sharing, and iterative development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including working independently on increasingly complex technical challenges.
- Senior and Lead roles require demonstrated mentoring, technical decision-making, and communication across product and engineering teams.
- Lead roles require experience influencing architecture, technical strategy, cross-product collaboration, and complex system design.
- Ability to work remotely with reliable internet access and a dedicated, private workspace suitable for professional work.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, maintain, and troubleshoot software applications and services across the technology stack.
- Participate in iteration planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and other agile practices.
- Apply test-driven development, paired programming, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
- Build frontend experiences and backend services using frameworks, APIs, databases, caching, and messaging systems.
- Contribute to technical decisions that balance simplicity, scalability, performance, maintainability, and customer needs.
- Support production applications and resolve technical issues affecting users and products.
- Collaborate and share technical knowledge with engineers, product managers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- Mentor and coach less-experienced engineers.
- At Lead level, guide backlogs, architecture decisions, technical strategy, and engineering direction across products.
- Lead or facilitate retrospectives and continuous-improvement initiatives.
