Requirements

  • Have at least 3 years of substantive professional experience in early years or a related field, such as consulting, research, government, or international development.
  • Demonstrate the ability to own analytical workstreams independently.
  • Hold an outstanding degree in Education, Early Childhood Development, Development Studies, Public Policy, Economics, Statistics, or a related field; a Master's degree or PhD is strongly preferred.
  • Have strong proficiency in Excel and, potentially, at least one of Stata, R, or Python for quantitative analysis.
  • Be able to run and interpret analyses without close supervision.
  • Bring experience with relevant datasets, such as learning assessments, EMIS, DHS, MICS household surveys, or administrative data.
  • Have prior experience in strategy, economics, or development consulting, including structuring problems, developing hypotheses, and producing client-ready outputs under pressure.
  • Ideally have experience managing projects or workstreams, including budgets, workplans, and teams.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication in English and be able to present complex findings to non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrate the ability to use AI tools effectively and responsibly to enhance analytical and written work.
  • Be from and based in Africa or India.

Responsibilities

  • Lead analytical workstreams on client projects, managing the approach, data, evidence, and outputs end-to-end.
  • Manage small to medium-sized client projects, including workplans, finances, teams, and project administration.
  • Conduct and direct quantitative and qualitative analysis across early years projects.
  • Develop technical reports, investment cases, policy notes, and slide decks.
  • Present findings to senior audiences and engage clients in working sessions, technical reviews, and in-country engagements.
  • Mentor and support junior colleagues.
  • Contribute to proposal development and business development, including methodology, workplans, and commercials.
  • Lead client relationships and business development processes, review junior colleagues' work, and own team workstreams.
