Requirements
- Experience crafting scalable backend systems in Python and Flask.
- Experience working with databases and cloud services.
- Comfort using monitoring and logging tools to keep systems healthy.
- Ability to quickly learn new languages or frameworks, including Go and Ruby.
- Ability to work on a distributed team and communicate asynchronously across time zones.
- Product and customer focus when making technical decisions.
- Ability to take initiative and own problems end-to-end.
Responsibilities
- Design, code, and launch backend features and services for restaurant partners and their customers.
- Identify technical opportunities where small changes can deliver disproportionate value.
- Own initiatives from concept through production, working with product, design, and other teams.
- Review code and collaborate with backend engineers in a small team.
- Apply coding, testing, monitoring, and DevOps practices to maintain reliable, performant services.
- Write unit tests and fine-tune logging and alerting for production services.
