- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering; postgraduate education is considered an asset.
- P.Eng. designation or equivalent professional engineering qualification and membership in a recognized professional organization.
- 10+ years of progressive mining engineering and operations leadership experience, with significant expertise in underground mining.
- Strong technical knowledge of rock mechanics and ground control, ventilation, mine planning, drilling, blasting, operational reporting, and continuous improvement.
- Experience with annual budgeting, life-of-mine planning, mineral reserve updates, and technical governance across mining operations.
- Experience leading or supporting major engineering initiatives with accountability for safety, quality, schedule, and budget.
- Strong understanding of health, safety, regulatory, and compliance requirements within the mining industry.
- Experience with corporate technical reviews, growth initiatives, due diligence, M&A, or integration activities is an asset.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking, practical operational judgment, and hands-on problem-solving skills.
- Proven leadership, coaching, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing capabilities.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is considered an asset.
- Must be legally permitted to work in Canada without additional sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support across rock mechanics and ground control, ventilation, mine planning, drilling, and blasting.
- Design, govern, and continuously improve the operating model with site and corporate teams.
- Partner with mine site leaders to develop annual budgets and life-of-mine plans aligned with strategic objectives.
- Provide professional mining guidance for annual mineral reserve updates and act as a Qualified Person when appropriate site expertise is unavailable.
- Promote knowledge sharing and adoption of best practices across mining operations.
- Coach and mentor engineering professionals and strengthen technical capabilities.
- Provide mining engineering expertise for property evaluations, acquisitions, mergers, due diligence, and integration initiatives.
- Lead or support large-scale engineering initiatives, overseeing safe and timely delivery within budget.
- Travel regularly to mine sites to provide technical leadership, operational support, and collaboration with local teams.
